Hi all, we are very excited to inform you that today the Agilo 0.7 BETA program started.

As promised we have just release the first BETA of the new Agilo 0.7 that now works with Trac 0.11. Agilo 0.7 is a major rewriting of the old version, we think with a lot of improvement, that you will already be able to appreciate from this first BETA.

Being a BETA is not suited for production use, therefore we didn't include intentionally any migration or upgrade from the previous release :-)

You can download it and try it out from the Download page.

Let us know what you think, and please, use this Blog, the Google User Group or the email :-)

Hi, I'm very interested in your product, and since I couldnt install 0.6.6 (cant compile matpilot on 3 different platforms): when first production-usable beta will be available?

Hi **neoromantic** we plan to release a production version for the end of August, we hope to get many valuable feedback from this BETA program, that is already meeting some issues :-) That's all about it in the end no?!

So we will have to round some corners, add some new features and probably work on the GUI too... let's see what will come out.

Keep watching on the Blog, it is a bit to early now to assure you that we will have a stable enough release for the end of August... but we are confident!

Best & Thanks for your interest

As far as I got to know agilo I see one flaw that make me bother — dependencies.

Do you really need matplotlib? I've got lots of problems with building it and it seems that other agilo users have it too.

You are right, some time ago I posted regarding dependencies, and Trac :-)

We try to do our best to improve the installation procedure of agilo, this will include in distributing precompiled versions of the dependencies libraries, at least for the major platforms. For the Linux distribution we will invest in preparing detailed documentation on how to get things compiled.

Related to **matplotlib** in particular, I am afraid, if we want to keep the image generation serverside and make it compatible with the widest number of browsers, than I se no alternative, **pychart** is even worse. The major problem with matplotlib is that requires some native libraries to be compiled and this unfortunately is not a task for everybody :-(

As said we will try to make a distribution as easy as possible to install... at the moment more than that is not committable. For the Mac OS X folks, I am also spending my "spare" time in trying to make a mpkg of Matplotlib to redistribute with the tool, someone already succeeded?

Thanks & Bye

We are moving forward pretty fast :-)
