We are proud to announce the release of Agilo Pro 1.1.1 and Agilo Open Source 0.8.3.1 - it is at the one hand a bugfix release that incorporates all the great feedback we got from our community and on the other hand it is a preview of a new backlog which we offer as an option to get early feedback from the community on its implementation.
So please give abundant feedback in our google group.
To download it please head over to our download page.

Today a new release of Agilo and Agilo Pro, featuring inline editing and breakdown tools in the backlog.
This release had us focussed on improving our testing architecture to enable us to deliver new features faster without sacrificing quality.

This release had us focussed on improving our testing architecture to enable us to deliver new features faster without sacrificing quality. Our functional tests are now done with Windmill, while our javascript code is under test by Qunit.
Thanks to these fantastic testing frameworks we were able to grab a hold on a good chunk of user reported bugs - please keep them coming! We have a wide array of systems and environments for testing, but we'll never be able to recreate every possible system.

CSM Exam Launch Plan of the Scrum Alliance:
- We will launch on October 1 with 3 variations of the exam.
- Each of the 3 variations will have 60 questions out of the total pool of 90 questions. They will be structured to make sure that each area of the Scrum Guide is equally represented in each exam.
- For a period of time (the length of which is yet undetermined, but will be announced in the future), all those who take the test will be given a “passing” grade.

agile42, HLMC and the well known iX Magazine from Heise organized together a Scrum getting started Training. in Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart. For all participants it was a great experience to get all this informations regarding Scrum. Even if the title of the Training was "Scrum getting Started" it was much more. A lot of information how Scrum works in real life and great practical examples and learning games. And at the end of all we had big fun :-)

Ken Schwaber is not any longer the President of the Scrum Alliance.
Ken Schwaber is not any longer the President of the Scrum Alliance. He stepped down as President and Chairman of the Board of the Scrum Alliance on Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
At the same time also Managing Director Jim Cundiff stepped down.
The new President of the Scrum Alliance will be Tom Mellor.

To have the people at the training really experience what it is like to work as a self organized team we end our training with a Lego city exercise. In this exercise, the people are to organize themselves to build as much as possible from the backlog in a number of 5 minute sprints, coupled with a retrospective and a planning session.

How to get a reasonable Sprint commitment without having to spend too much time in breaking down tasks at the Sprint Planning meeting, while being quite sure that you are going to make it
Never had the problem that the Sprint Planning Meeting often is at risk of going out of the time-box, and eventually the Development Teams didn't manage to fill up the Sprint Backlog with all the needed tasks?
I want to share with you a way - for sure no rocket science, but "Common Sense" as Ken would say - in which you can have a team committed to the deliverables, without having to struggle with the tasks breakdown, and at the same time having a "good enough" understanding about the commitment given to move forward... interesting? Than read forward :-)

Since we work with lots of JavaScript in the development of Agilo for Scrum, we have a problem. Of course there are tools like Narwhal that make it much easier to also run JS from the shell, but its not the same, and also it's very hard to debug javascript in there if ...

the Agilo Development Team released today a new update to the 0.7 version of Agilo, there are some improvements in performance and some bug fixes too. The focus of the release was to cut off some bugs related to IE compatibility as well as completing the help system, for which we would appreciate your comments, feedback and fixes as well.
Following a list containing the major improvements of this release, that will be the last 0.7. The new Agilo 0.8 is due to come this early summer, and will have some surprises... now the list ...

The agile42 development team just released Agilo 0.7.3.3 which is a maintenance release for the 0.7.3.x series. We managed to fix some more bugs, pointed out by the nice community of Agilo users :-) Thank you very much for your bug reports!
Some issues we fixed:
- changed some code which might be the cause for the 'tickets loose their sprint connection' issue that was reported by users previously.
- added more safety guards so that Agilo should work better for a multi-environment trac when some environments don't use Agilo
- added missing help pages for the ...

Of course we appreciate proposals upfront for the upcoming Scrumtisch, but mostly people are busy and therefore we collect wishes and questions at the beginning of the event. We write these questions on the "wall" and after we prioritize them. New VM Appliance uploaded, searching for someone to help in keeping on appliance development, it could become a community effort, we would support it of course...

today I uploaded a updated version of the Agilo Appliance, now in synch with Agilo release. Unfortunately we do not have the right tools to build an appliance, and it takes a considerable amount of time to configure a new one every time.
If someone out there have an idea on how to do it properly, which include:
- Reduce the size to the minimum
- Dynamically configure the network when first starting
- Use more format or a more portable one?

The latest version of Agilo for Scrum is much easier to install because it does not depend on matplotlib any more.
Yesterday we released Agilo 0.7.3. The most important change is a much easier installation because we removed all the dependencies on matplotlib, numpy and PIL. Now all charts are generated on the client using Javascript and a patched version of Flot :-)
Of course, we fixed another round of bugs and added some small features here and there (e.g. sprints are grouped by closed/running/planned like trac does it for milestones).
