  1. Download the appliance.
  2. Start VirtualBox and create a new virtual machine. Choose OS
  3. Name it however you want but make sure to choose Linux and Debian (or Linux 2.6) as the operating system
  4. 256 mb of ram should be enough for everyone evaluating it. Choose RAM
  5. Choose the downloaded disk image as the harddisk for your new vm. To do so you have to open the device manager (you can do so from the create vm wizard), add the agilo-pro-appliance-*.vmdk file that came with the download and then choose it as the vm for the new virtual machine. Choose Existing Disk Image Add Disk Image Choose Existing Disk Image in Filesyste Select Freshly Added Disk Image WIN

New Release of Agilo for Scrum

Keeping up with our goal of releasing every two months, we are proud to announce a new version of Agilo Pro 1.3.1 (and the Agilo Open Source edition).

New features and changes:

Trac 0.12 support

Agilo is now compatible with Trac 0.12, while keeping compatibility with Trac 0.11.X. While we're pretty confident that all basic operations work, we'd like to see some more real-world testing before we declare that feature as 'production ready'. Agilo with Trac 0.12 is currently slower than Trac 0.11.

Remember ...

This evening the Berlin Scrumtisch took place in Friedrichshain. More than thirty participants followed Marion's invitation for discussions on Scrum, wine and pizza at Vecchia Trattoria.

As there were several new participants, Felix started out with a very brief summary of the very core concepts of Scrum itself: Most important to know is the basic assumption of Scrum, that is planning ahead of time in a very detailed way is impossible. Defining goals and letting those who do the actual work take the decisions on how to reach that goal is way easier and more promising. The whole process ...

One of the basic artifacts that scrum uses is the backlog. It is used as the Sprint Backlog to plan a Sprint, as the Product Backog to keep track of all work in the Product and as the Impediment Backlog for the Scrum Master to keep track of impediments.

But in the end it's just a prioritized list of items - and you can use that wherever you have a need for that.

The Scrum Tool Agilo supports that by letting you create custom backlogs and we've prepared a screencast to show you how to do just that by ...

Team Estimation Game

  • Start with a stack of ranked story cards. The team will arrange the cards so the smallest size items are on the left and the largest items on the right. Items with the same or similar size should grouped together in vertical columns (the same place in the left-right direction).
  • Place the first (highest ranked) story card in the middle of the table (or in the middle of the board or wall)
  • Team members take turns estimating in a round-robin manner. On each turn, the player has two options, as shown below. With both options, the player ...

Good day everybody,

I hope you are all fine and nobody is still stucked somewhere because of the vulcano (I can spell the name ;-))

Please find below date and time of the next Scrumtisch.

One Topic
I had a nice talk with Martin and Friedemann, who are working for Ableton and who are implenting Scrum right now in their teams. They agreed, to give us an overview on how they started, challanges, good and bad experiences and answering questions.

Please let me know -as usual- if you are coming.

All the Best Marion
