More and more companies who until recently developed using more conservative methods such as Waterfall or RUP software, are now switching to lean and agile methods.
Based on best practices agile processes offer so-called process frameworks, which can be customized individually, according to the respective needs of teams and projects. Sounds good so far but let’s examine the pros and cons, areas of usage, implementation, long-term application and, lastly, the differences to other methods such as CMMI. And when it’s all said and done: the final answer.

Mehr und mehr Unternehmen, die bisher mit konservativen Methoden, wie beispielsweise Wasserfall oder RUP Software entwickelt haben, steigen um auf “lean” und agile Praktiken.
Basierend auf Best Practices bieten agile Vorgehensweisen so genannte Process Frameworks, die individuell auf die jeweiligen Teams und Projekte abgestimmt werden. Klingt gut - aber stellen wir auch kritische Fragen nach den Vor- und Nachteilen, den Einsatzgebieten, der Umsetzung, der langfristigen Anwendung und Abgrenzungen zu Vorgehensmodellen wie z. B. CMMI, bevor wir ein abschließendes Urteil bilden.

Scrum Master Zertifizierungen Ja oder Nein?
Prüfung ja oder nein?
Die Diskussion, um Scrum Zertifizierungen hat gerade erst begonnen.
Hi Alle,
immer wieder werde ich gefragt, ob es Sinn macht an den Certified Scrum Master Trainings teilzunehmen.
Die Antwort ist nicht so einfach. Natürlich macht sich eine Zertifizierung immer gut im Lebenslauf ;-). Auf der anderen Seite sagt sie aus meiner Sicht nicht viel aus, denn es gibt keine Prüfung. Sprich: jeder der bezahlt bekommt das Zertifikat. Wow - das ist ja mal ein Qualitätsmerkmal ;-)
Dieses Problem hat jetzt wohl auch die Scrum Alliance erkannt, denn was man so hört gibt es Initiativen eine Prüfung einzuführen.
Ich kann das nur begrüßen. Was denkt Ihr?

Agilo for scrum is a Trac plugin that uses the issue tracking system and extends it with features that enable you to follow a more agile development process.
It’s still in early beta, but looks very promising already. It’s got an Apache Software License 2.0 so you can always have a look under the open-source hood ;-) Installation is possible with a python egg, so you can easy_install the whole thing, provided you have the needed dependencies (matplotlib and the python imaging library, to name a few).
After setup, Trac is modified quite substantially so let’s have ...

- Nein, war doch der Product-Owner
- Zerlegung in kleine Plan-Teile lässt sehen wo man falsch geplant hat und erlaubt korrekturen

Thanks to the support of our users (see the discussion group thred http://groups.google.com/group/agilo/browse_thread/thread/c119eb374b731436) which helpd in nailing down a significant number of bugs, we just released another version of Agilo for Scrum 0.6.6.
The Bug fixed:
- Wrong calculation of Resources allocation time, while the total have been correct, in some situations the individual allocation where fractioned
- Support for unicode characters in resources names, there was a bog avoiding to update a task containing a unicode character in one of the resource names
- Improved stylesheet for agilo-theme.

One of the "assumption" that is often made, when starting to adopt Scrum, is that there will be a Product Owner and there will also be a Product Backlog. Well, it happens that the Product Backlog quality is one of the major responsible for the outcome of what the team will produce in terms of software, and is absolutely one of the most difficult things to work out. There are many problems related to having a right Backlog in place, and as you may guess there is no "one recipe" for the right Backlog, only some important ingredients to mix up in the right way ;-)
Product Backlog: Requirements or User Stories?
Hi there, spending some extra time at the airport (thanks to lovely pilot strikes) gives me the chance to write a bit about Scrum and the Product Backlog. A Product Backlog is a stack of "features" prioritized by Business Value, which means that on top of the stack there is always the most valuable item for the customer/client.
The owner of the Product Backlog is the Product Owner and as such should be the one and only authorized to make changes to the Product Backlog, given also the fact that the main responsibility ...

Hallo Leute,
ich habe gerade die Nachricht bekommen, dass das Thema Agilo und Jira sehr interessant für einige ist.
Nun hat Thilo leider wohl keine Zeit zu kommen, darum wollte ich fragen, ob jemand anderer den Part Jira Vorstellung übernehmen könnte.
Ansonsten müssten wir das auf den übernächsten Scrumtisch verschieben.
Gibts noch andere Themenwünsche?

It comes ready to use including a Subversion repository to test the Subversion integration of Agilo for Scrum.
The guest OS is Ubuntu 7.10 Server Edition. The size of the compressed archive is 241.2 MB (~ 1 GB uncompressed). The archive contains a README.txt file with all information you need.
