What happens when the Product Owner can’t break down a story any further and it’s still too big to be manageable in a sprint? This post will explore some techniques that the Scrum team can use to break those stories down.

Breaking down user stories to fit into a few days of work and still deliver value is a vital component of Agile and Scrum. This is what allows the Scrum team to get fast feedback on the work they are doing to ensure it aligns with customer needs.

Several times over the past few weeks, I've been told by people that there is no planning in Agile.

I believe the source of this misconception comes from the Agile Manifesto's statement "Responding to change over following a plan".

It does not say ‘instead of following a plan'.

I’d like to simply share a short and partial list of just a few examples of how and where planning may happen in an agile context.

In the hopes that a partial list will change this myth….

One of the main activities of agile42 team between coaching assignments is to train new Scrum professionals and prepare them for Scrum Alliance certifications. Trainings are usually done in English but local communities can often enjoy a local-language course thanks to the network of coaches from different countries.
