Leading to a New Normal

We are happy to announce that a webinar will take place on July 2nd, by agile42's own Andrea Tomasini and his friend and colleague in leadership, Richard Sheridan.

Date: 2nd July 2020

Time: 4-5pm CEST

Inspiring Teams while Facing Reality

The first step of navigating a crisis is to ensure the safety of the team and stabilize the business. But what happens next? Do you feel ready for it? How do you rapidly adapt from being a culture of working shoulder-to-shoulder in an open space, sharing computers and being in conversation all day long to a 100% remote culture? How do you make longstanding practices of daily standups, pair programming and visual management hold up when everyone is working from home? How do you keep the team informed, run new experiments and keep morale high?

As the world slowly begins to find its new normal, leaders find themselves in a constantly changing situation. Fear can take over, teams can become distracted, sales outlooks can be far from favorable. Critical leadership skills of empathy, listening, and communication are required as leaders steer their teams out of chaos and into a ‘new normal’.

Two thought leaders together in one webinar

Join Richard Sheridan, CEO and co-founder of Menlo Innovations and author of best-selling books ‘Joy, Inc.’ and ‘Chief Joy Officer’ and Andrea Tomasini, CSO and co-founder of agile42 and author of ‘ORGANIC agility: Leadership & Organization’, as they share leadership challenges they have faced in this crisis, providing insights into how leaders can take action to lead their teams out of this unexpected situation. Both ORGANIC agility and Menlo share a similar approach in providing leaders with a framework to lead with empathy, recognize the potential of people around you, and focus on lifting the energy of the team.

Key Takeaways from the webinar

  1. Shared experiences of two very trusted leaders on the market
  2. Two different but aligned approaches on how to lead people in difficult times while strengthening engagement, ownership and productivity of your team
  3. Some concrete suggestions on how to start leading your team to a ‘new normal’

Richard Sheridan

Menlo Innovations CEO Richard Sheridan became disillusioned in the middle of his career in the chaotic technology industry. He had an all-consuming thought: things can be better. Much better. He had to find a way. Why couldn't a workplace be filled with camaraderie, human energy, creativity, and productivity? Ultimately, Rich co-founded Menlo Innovations in 2001 to end human suffering in the workplace. Menlo's unique approach to custom software creation is so surprisingly different that 3,000 people a year travel from around the world just to see how they do it. Rich's passion for creating joyful work environments led to his bestselling and widely celebrated book, Joy, Inc.: How We Built a Workplace People Love. His second book, Chief Joy Officer, continues to prove that a positive and engaging leadership style is actually good for business.
