The Advanced Education and Validated Practice (AEVP) course is the next step on the journey towards being a Certified Agile Leader. The AEVP requires the CAL I credential to be obtained first and is itself a prerequisite for the Peer Workshop.
Why attend CAL II?Who is the Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) accreditation II for?
If you have already attended a Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) I workshop, and you are ready to learn more advanced techniques, share your experience, and collect valuable feedback about your approach, then you are ready for the Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) II accreditation.
CAL II isn't a simple one-class workshop, but it is a small program on its own. It includes advanced education, validated practice, and a peer-based sharing workshop that consists of learning and practice across all three categories of learning objectives.
Who can deliver the CAL II training?
Only the Scrum Trainers with the highest expertise can be approved to deliver the CAL program. The requirements for this are a combination of being a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), and having a certification or accreditation in a recognized leadership development program, as well as having proven leadership development skills.
Why agile42?
Although the CAL courses are standardized by using the same framework and learning objectives, each program will be different in the way that it is taught by the instructor.
At agile42 we were among the first to be approved to deliver the CAL program. We have taken the framework of the program, mixed it with our unique concept for accelerated learning as well as our years of experience in delivering leadership training to develop a highly interactive program that gives you unique opportunities for peer interaction and practical experience.
With agile42 you will achieve the CAL II credential by completing the following:
1. Advanced Education
Attend the 3-day Advanced Education package which will cover all three learning categories:
2. Validated Practice
Create an Experience Report to document and share your experiences plus learnings on all three learning categories.
3. Peer Workshop
Participate in the Peer Workshop to share and present findings from the Experience Report.
Learning Categories:
i. Leadership in an Agile Context
Focused on both knowledge and practice, this 1-day workshop will allow you to increase self-awareness and establish a deeper understanding of your role as an Agile Leader. You will learn how to read and respond to situational context, and to create an environment necessary for your organization to thrive.
ii. The Agile Organization
This 1-day workshop focuses on organizational design built around the five ORGANIC agility® principles and the concept of organizational resilience. Using a case study to understand the complexities and pressures of an organization, you will apply the principles to identify and navigate through different challenges. You will also learn how to build capabilities within the team and in the organization, which ultimately changes your organizational structure and culture.
iii. Agile Approaches to Change
This 1-day workshop focuses on how organizations evolve organically. You will learn how to build the capability for change through two areas: (1) usage of metrics to visualize the change, manage obstacles and identify where to focus your efforts -and- (2) shift in mindset of what leadership looks like. Using real-life case studies, you will discover why and how agile change can permeate an organization.
